For 35 years I was the engineering photographer of HABS/HAER (a division of the National Park Service) documenting the built environment of the United States. These photos are in the public domain and are accessible at the Prints and Photographs division of the Library of Congress.
My book The Industrial Eye, contains a selection of my photos for HABS/HAER. My work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications, including Six Bridges, The Legacy of Othmar Amman by Yale University Press and the Cooper Hewitt Museum; Le Patrimoine Industriel des Etats-Unis with an exhibit at the Mairie du 3ieme Arrondissement de Paris, and most recently Covered Bridges and the Birth of American Engineering, a publication of the National Park Service.
The galleries on this site contain my photos of the built environment from before, during, and since my time with the Park Service, and include photos taken outside of the U.S.
